On the side, I teach bicycle mechanics to 10-17 year olds at Back Alley Bikes in Detroit as well as DPS and other community centers. I believe in helping students realize their own capability and using a hands-off teaching approach that guides the student rather than doing the work for them. I ride bikes all year long, am a die-hard Red Wings fan, hate milk chocolate, and share a house with a cat named Leaf.
