Experience
I am considered one of Michigan's highly qualified teachers by state standards and certified by the state for 19 years in K-8 (all subjects) general and special education included. I also have an extensive supply of materials for any age range. My area of special education certification is in cognitive impairment. I have taught in the self contained learning disabled classroom as well as resource and full inclusion. I have experience with students who have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD. I am responsible for working with general education teachers to provide every student the accommodations and modifications needed to achieve high standards in the classroom. As you can see I can teach all academic ranges, whether it is general or special education. I have also been a tutor for adult learners through Literacy Volunteers of America. I have taken high school Spanish for four years and Spanish for two years in college. I have also taught in after school programs in Hispanic community in my city. This required me to speak with the children in their native/home language. I operate an online tutoring/homework help business, in which I am comfortably skilled on the virtual whiteboard. I have an extensive resource of online/technology materials for every age range. I currently have two middle school and 6 elementary school students, and an adult Spanish language learner to whom I provide tutorial services online.
