Private tutor in Detroit, MI
Johns Hopkins University - BA, Psychology
I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Johns Hopkins University. I was on the pre-med track, majoring in Psychological and Brain Sciences. After graduating, and prior to entering medical school, I performed research as a research assistant at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the Department of Transplant Surgery. I do love working on research, but my passion is for tutoring or teaching in any way I can. I've taught in a variety of tutoring situations, ranging from teaching middle school algebra to tutoring my secondary school peers in multiple subject areas such as Spanish, math, chemistry, psychology, and biology. My favorite tutoring subjects are math and biology because I am passionate about those fun topics. When I tutor, I identify student hobbies and connect my lesson to those interests. Students grasp things much faster when a topic relates to a personal interest. When I am not tutoring, I juggle, sing, and listen to music. Also, I love Harry Potter and super heroes.
