I graduated from the University of Detroit-Mercy with a B.A. in Communications, along with an endorsement for Secondary Education in Speech and Literature. My experience includes teaching language arts at middle school and managing an extracurricular program that focused on literacy, writing essays, speaking publicly, and having debates. Moreover, I have further experience in tutoring language arts to students between grades six and nine, where I worked hard to help improve the students' grammar skills, reading comprehension, and standardized testing.Along with teaching and tutoring, I helped facilitate programs geared towards enriching the students academically. These programs include workshops, mentorships, and courses that focus on social and personal development. I especially enjoyed helping students raise their GPA and improve their test taking abilities.I passionately believe that all students are entitled to an attentive and dedicated teacher willing to help them succeed. I strive to apply my philosophy to my students, so that they can develop their strengths and overcome their weaknesses without fear of being judged.When I am not working in a classroom, I enjoy reading books and going to the theater. I also enjoy playing games such as chess and scrabble with my friends.
