MFA Metalsmithing from Cranbrook Academy of Art 2015 BFA Metals and Jewelry from Maine College of Art 2012 Aaron Patrick Decker is an American Jeweler based in Bloomfield Hills, MI. He is currently an MFA candidate at Cranbrook Academy of Art 2015 Metalsmithing Department. In 2012 Aaron was a recipient of The Windgate Fellowship, which allowed him to participate as an Artist-In-Residence in the Turnov International Jewelry Symposium, Turnov, Czech Republic, with the Association of Contemporary Portuguese Jewelers and with the Estonian Academy of Fine Arts. Recently he has shown work in the including exhibitions: Turnov International Jewelry Symposium (Turnov, Czech Republic), Free for All (Space Gallery, Portland Maine), and at the Richmond Art Center in Richmond California for Beyond Borders: Experimental Enameling; to name a few. Aaron is a contributing writer for Art Jewelry Forum, CURRENT-OBSESSION and Metalsmith Magazine.
Experience
I've taught drawing, 2d & 3d design. I am a practicing artist who has shown nationally and internationally. I want to share what I have learned with others, making the next generation of artists strong, creative individuals. I have been through so many art courses and know what good teaching methods are vs. poor teaching methods. It really comes down to the student and what they need, rather than a cookie cutter mentality.

Jewelry, Sci fi movies! David Eggers. I love sitting at my bench all day and working on jewelry pieces for upcoming shows. I knit in my free time and draw while on my way to work. All around I love making stuff. I run every day to keep fit and my mind moving, and I love to play badminton, it is an odd sport to love, I know.
