Private tutor in Detroit, MI
Education
McGill University - Bachelors, Music
Experience
I received my degree in Music, specifically Performance Jazz Drums, from McGill University. I've had the privilege of working with students as a teacher for over two years now through education oriented nonprofits. I've worked with students in kindergarten through the twelfth grade. I've also worked as a substitute physics and chemistry teacher in Detroit. I've taught private music lessons for over three years. I am a creative tutor who can help students with their algebra, elementary math, reading, writing, arithmetic, English, music, art, and a variety of other subjects. As a tutor I encourage my students to access their creative side, as I believe creativity and academic success go hand in hand. I want by students to leave our tutoring sessions not only more knowledgeable in the subject they are studying, but also stronger, more holistic learners in general. I instill confidence in my students and I hope that after our time together they are more enthusiastic about learning than when we began. When I'm not teaching or tutoring I am often playing the drums, composing, or producing music. I frequently organize musical events and performances that I attend. I try to meditate and be outside in nature as much as I can.
