Education

Massachusetts Institute of Technology Double Bachelor of Science: Physics and Mathematics - Received in June 2015 GPA: Overall - 4.7/5.0, Principal Major 4.9/5.0

Experience

Previous experience: I tutored peers in physics and mathematics while I was a student at MIT. Standardized test scores: ACT - 33, SAT - 740, 740, 650. Why I enjoy tutoring: I really enjoy the subjects for which I am interested in tutoring (principally physics and mathematics). I am aware that students often find them intimidating, and I am passionate about making physics and mathematics accessible to anyone. Not only do I hope to help my students succeed, I hope to help them enjoy the process of mastering these subjects. Relevant Classes I've Taken in Mathematics (can tutor at college level or high school level): -- General High School Mathematics -- Calculus: Single and Multivariate -- Algebra: Abstract and Applied -- Topology -- Real Analysis -- Differential Equations -- Probability and Random Variables -- Information Theory Relevant Classes I've Taken In Physics (can tutor at college level or high school level): -- General High School Physics -- Classical Mechanics -- Electromagnetism -- Wave Phenomena -- Special and General Relativity -- Quantum Mechanics -- Experimental Physics Impressive things from my resume: -- As an undergraduate I did research under the supervision of Prof. Alan Guth (famous for the discovery of cosmological inflation). -- I published a paper on the formation of supermassive black holes at the beginning of the universe (https://arxiv.org/abs/1504.02071). -- Outside of academics I have held several leadership positions in non-profit efforts, and have handled marketing and executive functions at two start-ups.

Hobbies

Hi! Thank you for considering me as a tutor. Outside of my work with start ups and in physics I enjoy playing soccer, learning oldies and newies on the ukelele, doing portraiture with acrylic paint, and going hiking. I enjoy occasionally watching NBA games (Go Cavs!) and watching what's new on TV. I am generally talkative and like to get to know people. I'm also a geek and enjoy keeping up with new technologies like augmented and virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and quantum computers. If you're interested about any of those topics or more ask me about them!
